these are not the best pictures, but i felt compelled to show you what i’ve been doing during nap time instead of blogging….painting. everywhere i look i am inspired by fabulous living spaces with white walls. it started a few months ago, and became an obsession (read: coping mechanism as a result of emotional instability). greg has been traveling quite a bit for work the last few weeks and every time he comes home there is another white wall. one thing i love, that i hadn’t though about before, is what a great back drop it is for our (very limited) art collection. which i am also realizing is made up entirely of clark studios pieces and one beautiful painting by greg’s grandmother.
also, in search of a coffee table or something similar to put in front of our green couch, i made a trip to ikea last week and found two options i really liked. in what i thought was a stroke of genius, i bought both with the plan to assemble both (GREAT AFTERNOON ACTIVITY WITH THE BOYS….seriously, they loved it), show greg, and return the one we vetoed. had i read the small print on my ikea reciept, i would have known that you can not return assembled furniture. lessons learned. they ended up taking it back at 70% of what i paid for to sell as is. total bummer. $60 afternoon activity for the boys. glad they liked it.
all that to say we settled on the white cubes (it’s actually two pushed together) which i’m digging. modern sophisticated design on one side….lego hide out on the other. win. win. win.
