so….greg rode the MS 150 bike ride this weekend. irvine to san diego. via the very scenic route. with little training. and well he actually rode more than 150 miles because he rode his bike to the race start in irvine saturday morning. which is funny b/c i would not have even made it that far. anywho…i was really proud. and made one of his very favorite dinners last night…that is out of control easy and delicious.
seared rare ahi tuna with avocado and jasmine rice.
i bought 1/2 pound of sushi grade ahi tuna, seasoned with chineese 5 spices and seared in a hot pan with a tiny bit of vegtable oil for 30 seconds on each side (including ends). seriously. then it’s done. slice it thin and serve with slices of avocado over jasmine rice and drissle with a reduction of equal parts soy sauce, honey, and balsamic vinegar (put in a pot over medium heat for 10 minutes and it’s “reduced.”)
