you all know about the holiday curse, which has also grown to include a vacation curse of sorts. but miraculously, after the last month of snot and puke, everyone woke up healthy this morning. and honestly, i would have bet my white jeans on someone puking on the two mile drive to church this morning. but low and behold. we all made it. all four of us. at church. together. on Easter. beautiful. He is Risen.
in honor of Easter we dyed eggs at my aunt’s house yesterday and had a little egg hunt. which ben LOVED. mostly because there was money and candy in all the eggs. so with no plans after church today, we went to our favorite restaurant (old vine at the camp) for brunch (where ben fell off a hammock and landed head first on stone) then home for another egg hunt. greg hid the eggs (same ones as yesterday….that were now empty…maybe symbolizing the empty tomb?). ben was SOOOO excited to find all the eggs. then he decided he wanted to hide the eggs for greg and i to find. he sent us inside for a few minutes as he carefully hid all the eggs in the yard again. and was JUST as excited to find the eggs he’d hidden himself. and he acted surprised to see each one…maybe he hit his head harder than i thought? this fun lasted at least an hour. hiding. finding. hiding. finding. so fun.
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14
